Hussain Sajwani is the founder and chief executive officer of DAMAC Properties, a luxury real estate developer based in Dubai. He established DAMAC Properties after realizing that the real estate industry in the United Arabs Emirates was experiencing challenges with many people who were moving to the country.
Hussain started in the United States where he established a food services business with the aim of providing catering services to the US military as well as construction giant Bechtel. Today, the food service company has grown to be the market leader in providing food to construction sites, learning institutions, and the military in Africa, the Middle East and America.
In 2013, Hussain Sajwani teamed up with Donald Trump to develop two golf courses in Dubai which were branded, Trump. After Trump was elected the president, Sajwani offered him a $2 billion real estate deal in Dubai which he turned down. Moreover, his close relationship with President Trump is highlighted by the fact that he attended the New Year’s Eve party at Mar-a-Lago which is owned by Trump. He also attended Trump’s inauguration in 2016 as the president.
According to Forbes Middle East, Hussain Sajwani is a known marketing guru, often offering free Lamborghinis and other luxurious things to apartment buyers. This has seen him sign co-branding deals with such companies as Bugatti and Versace. Hussain has been consistent over the years to applying similar business principles for success.
Over the years, Hussain Sajwani has also been involved in charity work. As such, he established the charity arm of the DAMAC Properties where he has been active in donating and funding to causes. Recently, he made significant donations to AED which was used to provide shelter, clothing, and food to over one million children globally. He has also donated to Dubai Cares and Emirates Red Crescent.
Sajwani is worth more than $4 billion and as a result, he is ranked as the fourth wealthiest billionaire in the United Arab Emirates. He is also among the most influential Arabs today.
