Meticulously Precise Clayton Hutson

Often, your destiny hounds you until you set yourself on a path that leads there. This is an apt description of Clayton’s relationship with the music industry. His passion for his craft is apparent in the way he works and describes tasks. There is nothing romantic about working in the music industry. It is all about hard work and grit. It is about building a reputation that precedes you.

Clayton Hutson is excited about the technological advancements in the music industry. He places an emphasis on creativity and imagination as a way to impress a client. He is an experienced production manager and will usually work out the kinks of his visions by laying them out digitally. He likes and always is steps ahead with regards to his work. As a testament to his professionalism, Clayton is appreciative of using varying forms of art to express oneself. He encourages his clients to incorporate such in their performances as opposed to the good old video projector.

Mr. Hutson the Sound Engineer hits the ground running. He likes to be the first at venues. It is his responsibility to know all and any problems that occur in the venues. Due to his diligence, often predicts problems ahead of time and comes up with a way to fix things. He likes to do a walk around noting everything that needs to be done so that he can delegate efficiently when the staff arrives.

Clayton is a family oriented man who values talent. In his opinion, this cannot be taught. Enthusiasm, while it can be developed, does nothing to replace talent. With more than two decades of experience, he has a well-known partiality to DiGiCo consoles. He is a hands-on manager and will often be found personally handling the mixers and other equipment.

Having graduated from the Central Michigan University with a BFA in Theatre design and technical production, he has worked with some of the biggest names in rock ‘n’ roll. Even after getting his MBA from the Stephen M. Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan, Clayton continues to give his all to his work. He began as a production manager at Getagrip Touring Inc in 1999. Like a fine wine, he has only done better since then. Learn more:
